St Michael's Roman Catholic Cemetery situated on Rivelin Valley Road was opened in 1862 and is still in current operation. The online burial index covers all burials from 1862 up to the year 2000. You can see how many burials were carried out each year by selecting "What's Online" from the website submenu.

The information contained in the index is currently as follows:

date of burial, forename, surname, age, address, grave section and number.

The burials index can be searched by forename, surname, address and year of burial and where the grave number appears in blue on the search results screen then this can be clicked to bring up a list showing who else was buried in the same grave. It should be noted, however, that many graves were public rather than private graves and as such contained a potentially large number of people, none of whom are necessarily related.
