Some of you may have noticed that the site is occasionally slow to respond or unavailable for short periods of time.  We have finally got to the bottom of it and discovered that another website with similar interests to ours is redirecting large volumes of internet spam to our site and has been doing so since early January this year.  Our host provider is aware of the issue and we have contacted the offending site to ask them to behave responsibly.  We are currently awaiting a reply.  Apologies in the meantime for any degradation in site performance.
